PART TIME - DATABASE SPECIALIST

Date of Posting: November 4, 2009

Job Duties:

kedt tv Input and retrieve data from various station computer databases.

kedt tv Design and maintain special-use Access databases for various station projects.

kedt tv Manage computer database processes for KEDT Annual TV Auction.

kedt tv Input database information into Radio station music library database.

kedt tv Insure database integrity and accuracy.

kedt tv Facilitate database backups and archives to prevent loss of important data.

kedt tv Train KEDT staff on database usage.

kedt tv Must be able to work some weekends and evenings during key station projects as directed by Supervisor.

Qualifications:
College Degree - Minimum 2 years database experience.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Those interested in applying for this position must meet the Federal Income Eligibility Guideline listed in the Federal Register.  This is a temporary position funded by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs through September 30, 2010.  This position will be for roughly 20 hours per week.

Title: Broadcast Operations Assistant

Status: Part-time, approximately 20 hours/week

Job Classification: Temporary non-supervisory Employee

Job Funding:  Federal stimulus grant funds

End date:  Sept. 30, 2010

Citizenship requirement:  Must be a U.S. Citizen to qualify

Job Duties:

Assist in daily broadcast operations of Public Radio and Television stations

Assist in Radio station daily operations under direction of Radio Program Director

Write and produce news stories and PSAs under the direction of Radio News Director

Assist in TV station video production duties under direction of TV Production Manager

Assist in TV station technical projects under direction of Engineering Dept.

Skills:

Ability to read aloud on radio in an acceptable quality voice required

Good writing skills required

Basic level computer skills using Microsoft Office Software Suite

Basic knowledge of music genres desirable
