Eric who is 39 years old, holds an Associates in Arts degree (Liberal Arts) from Del Mar College, a BA in English and History, and an MA in English from CCSU/Texas A&M University—Corpus Christi.  In 1990, he started with CCISD as a paraprofessional working with learning disabled and emotionally disturbed students at Richard King HS. After student teaching at King High School, he taught at Tom Browne Middle School 

Currently, Eric is in his 13th year at Mary Carroll High School. He teaches English IV#/Dual Credit English 1301 and 1302, Standard English IV, Creative  Writing, Humanities, and Analysis of Visual Media (Film Study).  His current interests include “hacking” on the drum set to relieve stress,  cooking, reading, writing, and teaching others to think (critically) and problem solve for themselves.

He is married to Jenny Boyd for ten years, and they have two children — a daughter, Elle, and a son, Thomas. Jenny is a stay-at-home mother who holds a law degree from Texas Tech University.   Eric will bring a special brand of humor, energy and the ability to engage young minds to Challenge!
