Ginny Lamare recently celebrated her ninth anniversary as host of South Texas
Public Radio’s popular Moonlight Serenade.
Every Friday night at 8:00 and Tuesday evening at 9:00, Ginny brings her own
special knowledge and experience to South Texas Public Radio in the presentation
of music from the big band-era.
Ginny is a former big band singer.
She met her late husband while both were touring with Claude Thornhill’s band.
They fell in love with Corpus Christi when the band came through on tour in 1954
to play a “one-nighter” at the Buccaneer Ball.
Nine years later, in 1963, Ginny says she persuaded her husband to trade in the
busy pace of New York City for a better place to raise their children.
After moving to Corpus Christi they joined a local band and also operated a
booking agency called Aquarius Productions.
Ginny still sings and performs locally whenever she has the opportunity.
If Ginny's music appeals to you, you can
send her your feedback.
